Madelyn Hochstein, President
Madelyn Hochstein is owner, President and co-founder of DYG, Inc.
Ms. Hochstein is responsible for the overall management of DYG, Inc. with special emphasis on overseeing the design, execution, analysis, writing and overall quality of the firm’s work in social trends and marketing guidance. In addition, Ms. Hochstein is often “on the road” presenting research results, consulting with clients on social trends or making speeches from coast to coast.
Prior to co-founding the firm, Ms. Hochstein was a Senior Vice President at Yankelovich, Skelly and White, where she was active in the marketing and research work as well as management of the firm for 15 years. Prior to joining Yankelovich, Ms. Hochstein was a Senior Research Project Director with Ted Bates and Company and at Sarah Lawrence College with the Sarah Lawrence Institute for Social Research.
Ms. Hochstein is a co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Issues Management Association and a former member of the Board of Governors of DIFNOS, The Defense Information School. She is also an elected member of the Market Research Council.
Ms. Hochstein is a graduate of Hunter College and holds a master’s degree in economic theory from the University of Pennsylvania.
Patrick Grande, Executive Vice President
Patrick Grande is owner, Executive Vice President and co-founder of DYG, Inc.
Mr. Grande is responsible for the overall financial and operational management of DYG, Inc. This includes all accounting, treasury, human resources, technology, office and day-to-day operational activities of the firm.
Prior to co-founding the firm, Mr. Grande held dual roles as Senior Vice President of Yankelovich, Skelly and White and Domestic Controller of the Consulting Division of Reliance Group Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining Yankelovich, Mr. Grande held positions in two private manufacturing companies, preceded by several years at a big five public accounting firm.
Mr. Grande is a graduate of Fordham University and holds a master’s degree in finance from the University of Connecticut.Mr. Grande is also a C.P.A. in the State of New York.
Paul McIntire, Senior Vice President
Paul McIntire is Senior Vice President with DYG, Inc. He is responsible for new business development and client relationships, working with companies to apply social values and cultural trends research to marketplace issues. Mr. McIntire works with companies to help them see the application and benefit of utilizing social/consumer trends research and insight in addressing important business issues.
Mr. McIntire has extensive experience in social/cultural and consumer trends research as well as marketing research, planning and business development. Prior to joining DYG, he was with Yankelovich Partners, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), 20th Century Fox and Carnation Company. He has worked with clients across a broad array of industries including: automotive, financial services, entertainment, information technology and retail consumer goods.
Mr. McIntire received his B.A. from UCLA, holds a Ph.D. in Ed. Psychology from BYU, and has studied at the UCLA Graduate School of Management.
Lee Boylan, Senior Associate
Over the course of her 20-year career, Lee has developed/conducted consumer and market research for multi-million dollar companies in multiple industries.Most recently, she was Vice President, Consumer Knowledge at John Laing Homes, one of the nation’s top privately held homebuilders, where she was responsible for creating and implementing strategic research programs to help the company anticipate trends in homebuyer preferences. Lee utilizes consumer insights to help clients understand what might be created or refined to capture the vision of current and prospective buyers and have the most leverage in persuading them to purchase a company’s products and services.
Prior to John Laing Homes, Ms. Boylan was First Vice President, Customer Knowledge at Countrywide Financial and has held several strategic research and planning positions with Broadway Stores, Inc. and several large advertising agencies including: Della Femina McNamee, Inc., Levine Huntley, Schmidt & Beaver, and BBDO, Inc. Lee holds a master’s degree from Columbia University and she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California.She lives on Naples Island in Long Beach, California.
Jane Turner, Senior Associate
Throughout more than 20 years in marketing and publishing, Jane has helped build strong positions that ground and extend brand franchises. One hallmark of Jane’s “inside-out” positioning process is the interpretation and application of social trend data to allow clients to claim a meaningful, profitable place in the market by telling their essential brand story in the context of the culture.
In her corporate career, Jane was General Manager, Marketing and Communications for Ralph Lauren Media, a joint venture of Polo Ralph Lauren and NBC, where she helped launch RLM’s successful e-commerce business Polo.com. Prior to this, she was the publisher of Men’s Health magazine, preceded by a long-term role as the positioning/marketing strategy consultant for Men’s Health – one of the fastest-growing, most profitable magazine brands in the US and internationally. In her own consulting business, Jane’s clients have ranged from the upscale such as Condé Nast and Polo, to the broader-based such as Consumer Reports and Prudential; projects have included breakthrough launches (More, The Week) as well as long-established brands (Vogue, The Atlantic).
Jane is committed to non-profit work ranging from Hobart & William Smith Colleges to the What to Expect Foundation to the Ridgefield Playhouse for the Performing Arts. She is currently President of the Board for ROAR – Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue. She lives in Ridgefield, CT.
